MAD

I tried to keep my sanity intact
But madness and its beauty lured me past.
The sun was shining bright but it was black
I thought it was the night and I did slack.
I did not know my mind was out of track
As my lips uttered the words that earth was flat.
I argued saying rats devoured cats
And believed that balls did hit the bats.
My heart fell for the man who wore big hats
But in the end, he was just as mad.
